A new decision-making model
Five years ago, Agrotec recognized DigiFarmz as a disruptive solution for efficiency and personalization in agribusiness. Initially met with skepticism, farmers soon realized its intelligence in adapting to each plot's unique needs. "At first, they saw it as just another generic tool, but over time, they understood its adaptability to every decision," says Paulo Eduardo Alves, CEO of Grupo Agrihold and executive director of Agrotec Paraguay.

The implementation began with 10,000 hectares (around 24,700 acres) in pilot projects, but the platform’s impact was so significant that DigiFarmz now serves over 80,000 hectares (around 197,600 acres) in Paraguay, with plans to reach 300,000 hectares (about 741,000 acres) in the coming years.
Another remarkable case was reported by Fabrício Brajak, an agronomist and technical consultant at Agrotec. He worked with a client who traditionally invested in premium products from various suppliers but still faced significant yield losses. With DigiFarmz, the farmer began defining all fungicide applications based on the platform and purchasing them exclusively from Agrotec. This not only led to a 20% reduction in fungicide costs but also resulted in a healthier and more productive crop. Additionally, Agrotec strengthened its role in the farmer’s business, establishing itself as a strategic partner in crop protection management. DigiFarmz not only helps farmers identify the ideal timing for input applications but also promotes the conscious and sustainable use of resources. Alex Roman, Agrotec's commercial manager, highlights how the platform has helped eliminate unnecessary applications. "With the platform, we’ve reduced product use to what is truly effective and necessary, leading to cost savings and a lower environmental impact. It’s about doing more with less," he explains.
DigiFarmz’s unique approach also enhances strategic crop management planning. The solution can cross-reference variables such as climate, cultivar type, and active ingredients, providing precise and highly customized recommendations. This enables farmers to cut unnecessary costs without compromising productivity. "Efficiency comes from the perfect combination: the right product, at the right time, applied at the right dose," he concludes.
Breaking barriers and building trust
Initially, one of the biggest challenges was overcoming farmers' resistance, especially those managing larger areas and accustomed to traditional methods. Fabrício Brajak recalls that many farmers hesitated to trust the platform’s recommendations, such as adjusting the timing of fungicide applications. "Most of them had always followed conventional practices and were skeptical when they saw different recommendations from what they were used to. But once they tested DigiFarmz, they quickly saw the benefits and didn’t want to go back," says Fabrício.
This shift demonstrates to farmers that more efficient and profitable ways to manage their crops exist. Additionally, one of DigiFarmz’s greatest advantages for agricultural retailers is the trust it builds in the recommendations, strengthening relationships and positioning the retailer as a strategic partner in farm management.
Paulo Alves adds that this initial resistance is being overcome, particularly with Agrotec’s technical support. "The platform is intuitive, but we also have 70 trained agronomists supporting farmers. This has been essential in ensuring that everyone gets the most out of the tool," he states.
Beyond transforming field management, DigiFarmz has left a lasting impact on the Agrotec team. Through experimental fieldwork in partnership with DigiFarmz, Agrotec’s agronomists have been trained to apply this knowledge in practice. "The insights generated by DigiFarmz and validated in the field have been crucial in further enhancing our team’s expertise, allowing us to provide farmers with precise and well-founded recommendations," Paulo highlights.

"Over the last six harvests, where DigiFarmz has been present in the field, the management adjustments proposed by our algorithms resulted in an average increase of approximately $60 per hectare in the profits of farmers using the platform," highlights Neuhaus. This tangible return strengthens farmers' confidence in the technology and drives the platform’s expansion in the country.
