How much does a farmer lose by applying fungicides at the wrong time?

The impact of productivity loss due to delays in fungicide application can be significant and varies depending on several factors, such as the diseases present and their progression during the season, the management program adopted, climatic conditions, and the susceptibility and characteristics of the cultivar.

Our studies show that even a simple delay in application can result in losses of up to 80 kg of soybeans per hectare per day (up to 71 lbs of soybeans per acre per day). On average, research indicates losses between 20 and 30 kg per hectare for each day of delay. In other words, small variations in application timing can lead to substantial differences in harvest, highlighting the importance of strategic, data-driven management to maximize productivity.
