DigiFarmz Smart Agriculture has kicked off a new series of field trials through its Research & Development division, focusing on wheat and integrated cropping systems for the 2025 growing season. This initiative strengthens the scientific foundation behind DigiFarmz Cropper and DigiFarmz Linkage, enhancing the precision and value of the agronomic recommendations delivered to users.

The trials include 35 different wheat cultivars, planted across two sowing windows, to evaluate yield potential, agronomic traits, and disease response. In addition, a range of disease management and crop nutrition treatments will be applied to assess cultivar performance under various practices. The resulting data directly feed into DigiFarmz’s proprietary algorithms and models, supporting continuous improvement of its decision-support tools.

The company is also conducting focused fungicide management trials, testing protective products, commercial mixtures, and multiple application programs. These experiments are essential to validate input efficacy under real-world conditions, giving DigiFarmz users more reliable, data-backed recommendations to reduce risk and increase efficiency in plant health management.

A key component of this research cycle is a long-term, five-year systems trial designed to study how different cropping practices influence productivity, profitability, and crop health. The study explores combinations of summer crops such as soybeans and corn with winter crop options, as well as varying approaches to soil fertility, crop nutrition, and plant protection strategies. By continuously monitoring these systems, DigiFarmz aims to generate insights into how production decisions interact and affect farm sustainability over time.

“What sets DigiFarmz apart is our ability to turn field research and scientific data into practical, customized recommendations for every grower. These trials are designed to deepen our understanding of how cultivars, management strategies, and environmental conditions interact — so we can deliver even more accurate and effective solutions that drive results in the field,” says Leonardo Furlani, Technical R&D Coordinator at DigiFarmz.

By investing in applied research and technology development, DigiFarmz delivers real value to its users. The platform translates complex agronomic data into clear, evidence-based guidance, empowering farmers, consultants, and cooperatives to make better decisions, optimize resources, and improve productivity. This approach reinforces DigiFarmz’s position as an agtech company that integrates innovation, science, and field experience to support smarter agriculture.
